The competition

Leicester are certainly locked in a relegation battle at the moment, but they have the quality to remain in the Premier League. As better results come for the Foxes, the same may not be able to be said about those around them at the bottom of the table.

Crystal Palace have been in abysmal form, losing their last six matches and scoring one goal along the way. Hired in December after Alan Pardew was sacked, Eagles manager Sam Allardyce is having immense trouble finding strong play from the club.

Currently in last place, Sunderland and David Moyes have struggled throughout the campaign. Despite a victory over Palace last weekend, the club’s lack of attacking help for striker Jermain Defoe may lead to difficulties ahead.

Swansea City are on their third manager of the season, and any consistency in form has been a rare sight.

Middlesbrough have not won a league match since December, while Hull City have only recently seen more positive results.

The competition around Leicester points toward their overall talent being able to shine and pushing them above the relegation places.

Leicester City achieved the impossible last season, as sport’s greatest underdog fought their way to the Premier League title. Just a year later, their new mission will be just being able to stay in that very same division.

What a difference a year can make.
