Sadio Mané vs Ben Davies

Sadio Mané has yet to get back to his pre African Cup of Nations form. After scrambling to fly Mané back in time to face Chelsea, the Senegal  international has made little impact in the Liverpool side. He will need to be in top form against Tottenham’s formidable defense if he wants his side to come out on top. Mané is the top scorer for Liverpool this season, so the team will be looking towards him to lead the line and create chances in the attack.

More from Playing for 90

With Danny Rose still out injured, Ben Davies will slot into the left back slot for Tottenham this weekend. The young Welshman will have his hands full with the rapid pace  of Mané down the wing.

Davies recently helped the Spurs grab a clean sheet against Middlesbrough, putting in a full 90 minute shift in the victory. Davies has started just four Premier League matches this season. Facing a frustrated Liverpool side will really throw him into the fray as he looks to continue his solid play.

The Spurs fullbacks will not have an easy time shutting down the quick passing Liverpool side. Davies is just one of the key pieces to a Tottenham defense that will be tested all match long. Mané will tirelessly run down the wings for a full 90 minutes if needed. His workrate will make him a big ask for Davies, so the matchup between the two should be a great joy to watch.
