Tiemoue Bakayoko – AS Monaco

Monaco have been one of the better clubs across Europe this season, currently first in the Ligue 1 table and awaiting Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. One of the components to their success has been the stellar play of midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, and his impressive skills could certainly benefit Manchester United.

The 22-year old has played at Monaco since 2014 and has been involved with the French youth national squad for several years.

Bakayoko brings pace, incredible positioning and great stamina to Monaco’s defensive midfield. The club’s powerful attack has been able to fully flourish thanks to Bakayoko’s work in the middle of the pitch.

Defensive midfield has been a strength for United this season, with Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick in fine form. At such a young age and still improving, Bakayoko’s signing would ensure that the position continues to thrive.

Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata bring quite a bit to United’s attacking midfield, and providing these players proper coverage at the back will normally bring positive results.

The 2017-18 season could see these attributes become even stronger with the summer transfer of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
