Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

I’ve said it before and I have a feeling that I will continue to say it. “Wow! What a talent Sadio Mane is.” Now that it’s been said, let’s review just how good he was against an underwhelming Tottenham side. This season has had all sorts of twists and turns and a 2-0 Liverpool victory saw the race four the top-four spots get even tighter.

Spearheading the charge, was Sadio Mane after he recently returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. Klopp, who was without Mane for a large part of the New Year saw his job challenged as Liverpool struggled to find a win in the new calendar year. The return of Mane changed the winds yet again.

Mane currently sits in seventh place for the leading scorers this season, converting 64% of his 21 shots into goals. He has played 1848 minutes for Klopp this season and has 11 Premier League goals to his name. What an acquisition he was from Southampton FC, who have seen their side pillaged like a fishing village in Viking times, by Liverpool FC.

Klopp and Liverpool will both be hoping now that with the return of Mane to the teamsheet that Liverpool will pick up the broken pieces of their season and hold on longer enough to secure a top-four finish and birth into the Champions League. Only time will tell, but that victory over competitors Tottenham may end up being extremely crucial to the plot.
