Dele Alli (Tottenham)

The way Dele Alli single-handedly served Chelsea a loss put Dele Alli straight into my squad. Here’s another English talent that until recently was not wanted by the club and spent the better part of their professional career out on loan. Well, not anymore. Alli has broken (and when I say broken, I mean shattered, destroyed and Hulk-smashed) his way into the Tottenham rotation.

In the 2016/2017 Premier League season, Alli has made 26 appearances for the Hotspurs (two of which have been as a substitute) and in those appearances, he has managed to score 11 times. In comparison to his breakthrough last season where he managed to find the back of the net ten times in 35 appearances. It is clear that Dele Alli is on the rise, thanks to Pochettino’s investment in him. As his confidence grows, so does the amount Alli puts shots on target… with over half of them finding their way to the net.

Alli is not someone you would think of getting over big central defenders in the box but against Cheslea’s Gary Cahill, he towered over the man in blue… twice.  We know that Alli is capable of scoring some worldly goals (go YouTube Alli’s goal against Crystal Palace from last season) and we are sure to see more of that in what will be a bright future.
