3. Don’t start Moussa Sissoko

Many Tottenham fans will think this is a repeat of reason five. Given how much Sissoko has struggled this season, he clearly can’t be a member of the squad’s starting XI. Even if Pochettino thinks he might be, he can’t start him in such a pivotal match.

Starting Sissoko will put the Spurs crowd on edge from the match’s very beginning. Literally one bad touch by the Frenchman could send the crowd into an absolute panic. It’s just not worth the risk.

In all honesty, I wouldn’t even have him in the squad today. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where playing him would be a smart decision. Perhaps he could come into the match with ten minutes to go provided Spurs have a four goal lead. Otherwise, he needs to remain nailed to the Wembley bench.

Moussa Sissoko may be able to revive his career at Tottenham, but it won’t happen today. Involving him in the match would draw the ire of Spurs fans around the globe.
