A look into potential players for the Blues next season.

The current Premier League campaign has seen a remarkable change of fortunes for Chelsea, as the Blues currently sit atop the table in first. Drama and disappointment filled their 2015-16 season on the path to a tenth-place finish, but manager Antonio Conte has helped to turn things around at Stamford Bridge.

For the most part, the Italian tactician has been able to produce positive results with much of the same line-up as last season. However, the club did bring in key additions this past summer that have been critical components to success.

Arguably the most impactful of those signings has been former Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante. One of best defensive midfielders in Europe, the French international covers acres of space and allows the Chelsea attack to press forward without being too exposed at the back.

With Conte’s switch to a 3-4-3 formation this season, Kante’s presence in the middle has been even more important. David Luiz and Marco Alonso have both been major contributors throughout, while Michy Batshuayi has provided excellent depth at the top of the line-up.

After such strong summer signings, Conte and club owner Roman Abramovich will certainly want the same in the coming months.

We examine and review five potential targets for Chelsea during the next transfer period.
