Bernardo Silva – AS Monaco

Attacking talent is important. But when it comes to the European transfer market, age is a key aspect as well. Chelsea would be able to capture both with the signing of AS Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva.

The 22-year old has been tipped for stardom for several years already, and is truly beginning to live up to his lofty potential. Silva has scored six goals and recorded five assists in 25 Ligue 1 appearances with Monaco this season.

Developing through the famed youth system at Benfica in his native Portugal, Silva was sent out on loan to the French first division with Monaco in August of 2014. Monaco were immediately impressed with the young player’s skill and quality, making the move permanent in only a matter of months.

Currently first in the Ligue 1 table and in the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League, Silva has helped to lead an exciting club to great heights this year. Silva’s passing is accurate, and his incredible pace can be utilised out wide as well as centrally.

One of the most promising young European players could be playing in London if Chelsea are able to sign Bernardo Silva in the coming months.
