Ryan Giggs scores a wonder goal to lead Manchester United past Arsenal
Manchester United were treble winners in 1999 and they in part owe this accomplishment to Ryan Giggs.
The Red Devils were up against rivals Arsenal and were forced in to a replay when the first match ended in a 0-0 draw.
Three days later the teams met again at Villa Park and were locked in a 1-1 tie after regulation.
In the 109th minute of extra time Ryan Giggs took center stage. The midfielder picked up an errant Patrick Vieira pass. He then ran from the half way line through five Arsenal players and past David Seaman in the Arsenal goal.
Manchester United went on to defeat Newcastle 2-0 in the final on May 22nd. Four days later they were crowned Champions League winners to complete the treble.
