Lionel Messi – Barcelona

A move that sounds more like a dream than reality, Manchester City’s pursuit of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi would send shock waves throughout the football world this summer. With his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola leading the charge, the club are reported to be ready with a massive transfer fee.

Believed by many to be the greatest player of all-time, Messi’s arrival in England would be nothing short of jaw-dropping.

His addition on any squad would obviously see stunning results, but his inclusion at Manchester City would be tremendous. Playing alongside the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane would help to make the City attack an unstoppable force.

Whether centrally or out wide, Messi’s magic in the English top flight is an exciting prospect.

Rumours of discontent at Barcelona have appeared from time to time, and City Football Group are capable of providing the absurd resources needed to make a potential deal happen.

However, adapting to life in a new country and a new league are noteworthy concerns for the Argentine.
