5. Tough fixtures ahead

The Ligue 1 has been really unpredictable this year.  Nice and Monaco have clearly been extraordinary. Lyon were off to a slow start but now have become one of the feared opponent. With all the 3 teams fighting for the top spot yet to face in-form teams like Lyon, Toulouse and Nantes among a few , its highly likely that one of the teams will drop points .

Monaco were beaten at home by Lyon when they first met in December . They too aren’t at the top of their freescoring form that they were at in the beginning of the season. A probable injury to any player who is a regular starter for the principality club, can derail them from the title race. Lyon have increased their strike force by signing Memphis Depay who has already scored 3 goals and assisted 2 since joining the club in January. Monaco play away this time around and they’ll have a very tough job of beating Lyon

Paris play Lyon before they play Nice and that game can be a decider .  If Paris drop points then it can become really tough for them to come back from that point ,  but seeing their current form and home support , PSG may just get past Lyon with a win . As compared to Nice and Monaco , PSG have easier opponents left to play and this can be a huge boost for them in order to overthrow Monaco from the top spot .

Remember Paris took the top spot from Lyon in 2014/15 after the 30th matchday and they still have 10 more games to end this season. Can PSG repeat their feat and come from behind to win Ligue 1 for the fifth consecutive time ? I guess we’ll just have to wait and watch.
