Alexandre Lacazette – Lyon

The one that got away. After a failed attempt to bring Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette to North London last summer, Arsenal will certainly be prepared to make the transfer happen this year.

The 25-year-old has continued his fantastic production in Ligue 1 during the current term, surpassing his total from last season with 27 goals across all competitions.

Lacazette brings so much of what Arsenal and Arsene Wenger look for from their forwards, and his versatility could be utlised in a variety of ways. Able to play as a striker and further out wide, the French international’s pace and skill on the ball can open up even the best of defences.

His goal-scoring consistency in the French first division has been impressive, and the time appears right for a move to the Premier League. Arsenal will certainly have competition from other European clubs, but the Gunners will likely be determined to make the transfer happen after being unable to lure Lacazette to the Emirates in recent years.

If the sale of Alexis Sanchez does take place, Arsenal will have the resources necessary to ensure that Alexandre Lacazette can be a part of the squad’s future.
