Daniele Rugani – Juventus

One of the issues that has plagued Arsenal this past week was the team’s defence, as both Liverpool and Bayern Munich seemed to move towards the opposing goal with relative ease. With an eye towards improving depth along the back-line, the Gunners may again look to Juventus and centre-back Daniele Rugani.

The Italian international has shown great quality in a short period of time in Serie A, and would provide fantastic defensive coverage within Arsene Wenger’s side.

Developing through Empoli’s youth system, Rugani signed with Juventus in the summer of 2013. He spent time back on loan with his former club soon after, showcasing his impressive talents.

Rugani possesses excellent size and a strong footballing mind, as the Italian top flight often brings a focus on defensive tactics and positioning. For both Empoli and Juventus, the 22-year-old has also displayed goal-scoring skills from time to time as well.

Reports suggest that the interest has been there and the Old Lady may not let the defender go so easily, but Arsenal would see their central defence receive a major boost with the summer signing of Daniele Rugani.
