With his contract expiring in one year and rumours swirling about unhappiness and wanting to leave the club, here are five teams that should be targeting Alexis Sanchez in the summer.

With one year left on his contract the rumours about the future of Alexis Sanchez’s at Arsenal have been one of the key talking points of the season and definitely of Arsenals season. The Chilean’s future has been in doubt over the course of the season with Arsenal refusing or at least seeming hesitant to pay Sanchez the wages that he is demanding but the issue brewing between Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal seem to be much more than just a pay dispute.

Watching Sanchez on the pitch it’s obvious that the man wants to win and seems to be getting more and more frustrated with his team who are not challenging for titles once again this season apart from an FA Cup run and have just been battered for the third straight time by Bayern Munich resulting in Arsenal once again being eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16 for the seventh year running.

It’d be more surprising this summer if Alexis Sanchez signs a new contract extension with Arsenal to keep him at the club than it would be if he was to leave. As of right now, it seems obvious to everybody who has been following the story that Alexis Sanchez is going to leave the club in the summer as his entire body language and demeanour suggests.

It’s becoming nearly every game that Sanchez looks frustrated with his team mates and being dropped to the bench last Saturday for Arsenal’s game against Liverpool along with reports about a bust-up in training with team mates would indicate that Sanchez wants to leave the club.

If Alexis Sanchez does decide to leave the club, it’ll be a huge loss to Arsenal as the Chilean has been Arsenals best player this season scoring twenty-one goals and seventeen assists in thirty-one appearances in all competitions predominately playing up front as a striker for Arsenal. With Arsenals typical transfer windows, it’d appear that the club would struggle to replace him just has they’ve struggled to properly replace Robin Van Persie who left for Manchester United back in 2012 who, like Sanchez, had only one year left on his contract before departing the club in pursuit of wanting to win trophies.

There will be a host of clubs after Alexis Sanchez in the summer, the Chilean is a world-class player who can operate either upfront or on the wing and with his contract only having a left year before he could potentially leave on a free, Arsenal will have to sell at a cut-rate price compared to what they could have commanded had he longer on his deal.

There is the potential option for Arsenal to turn down all bids for Alexis Sanchez and keep him for another season and let his deal expire, like Dortmund did seasons ago with Robert Lewandowski, but this is not something Arsenal are known for doing and will more than likely try to get something out of Alexis Sanchez by selling him, again like Robin Van Persie.

So which clubs could potentially be looking for Alexis Sanchez in the summer? Here’s at least five clubs that should be battling it out for his signing:
