Injuries to Michael Dawson and Curtis Davies have opened the door for Harry Maguire and he has run through it without hesitation. After learning his trade at his hometown club Sheffield United he was snapped up by Hull City. He now looks one of the most accomplished young center backs in the Premier League and his progress has been a rare piece of good news in a difficult season for the club. I’m sure the club would like to keep the Yorkshire man even if they are relegated and unload the older and more expensive Dawson and Davies. However I think they will receive an offer than cannot afford to refuse.
WHERE HE WILL LAND: Southampton will be a good fit for him but if he keeps impressing Tottenham and Liverpool will be interested.
The other happy development for Hull City has been the recent progress of Sam Clucas. A late developer in soccer terms; released by Leicester City as a teenager he ended up and non-league Nettleham before making his way through the divisions. He is left-sided midfielder who Hull have used as a regular winger and as a left wing-back. He has impressed with both his work rate and level of technique and tactical awareness.
WHERE HE WILL LAND: Leicester City seem tailor-made for his style of play and he could return to the club that let him go.
