Premier League: Transfer XI shopping list facing the drop
By David Gate
Middlesbrough
The worse the team, the fewer players who will get snapped up. Middlesbrough have struggled all year and despite some encouraging draws have not been able to get the points needed for survival. Their outlook is grim. They have only scored 20 goals on the season. One player who does meet the technical demands of the Premier League is Gaston Ramirez. He has always been a creative player but his time at Middlesbrough has given him increased defensive discipline as well.
WHERE HE WILL LAND: Watford or Bournemouth would be good destinations.
There has been little attacking or creative to praise Boro for this term but they have proved to be a solid defensive unit. They have given up 33 goals; only 5 teams have given up less. The one player of their defensive unit that may interest other clubs been Bernado Epsinosa, commonly know as Bernardo. The Colombian took a while to get into the first team but has since performed well. He is good in the air and competent with the ball at his feet and would form a solid partnership with a quicker, aggressive center back.
WHERE HE WILL LEAD: Crystal Palace could do with a player like Bernardo. Southampton have huge need at the position.
Other notable players: Fabio, Victor Valdes & Viktor Fischer
