Third Chelsea captain choice: Gary Cahill (Gazza)

The easy, obvious choice would be to just let Cahill continue on as captain next season.

He has done a good job as stand-in captain while Terry has lost his place. He’s also scored some important goals for Chelsea with his recent goal that won the game against Stoke.

However, he’s not my first choice as captain as he has a tendency to disappear in games, particularly his leadership and influence in games can be questionable at times.

He’s not a natural leader like Terry as he himself said and I can think of a couple of other Chelsea players that would fit the bill better.

Cahill is also 31-years-old and he’ll likely be replaced if not this season, then in the near future. Chelsea need to stick the armband on someone who will be in the first team for the next five or so years.
