Second Chelsea captain choice: Eden Hazard

He’s Chelsea’s best player on his day. He’s captained Belgium and he’s one of the funniest players in the Chelsea squad. Hazard is an obvious choice.

While he doesn’t represent the same leadership qualities that John Terry displays, he can be a leader by example. He can lead by letting his feet do the talking.

Hazard captained Belgium throughout the 2016 Euros and while they didn’t get far, Hazard was consistently their best player. He destroyed teams by dribbling past defenders on the left flank at will.

He would’ve captained belgium in this international break if he hadn’t got injured.

While there are also some doubts about his future, it’s reported that he’s not going to join Real Madrid anytime soon.

More from Chelsea FC

Hazard has said that his family is settled in London, and he’s happy playing under Antonio Conte as he’s given freedom to roam in his number 10 role in the 4 3 3 system.

Hazard has scored 11 goals and made four assists this season and he’s one of Chelsea’s most important players.  Antonio Conte has already said that Hazard has “no price” so the Italian will be eager to keep him for as long as possible.

By captaining him, it would possibly tie him down to Chelsea for the foreseeable future.
