Marco Asensio has come into his own this season

Marco Asensio’s has made a name for himself at the Santiago Bernabeu after impressing in the early stages of the season. The 21-year-old was just full of potential back in August, but now the world has seen what the winger is capable of.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury opened the door for Asensio to step in and play first-team football and the Spaniard did not disappoint, scoring a beautiful chip in his debut against Real Sociedad.

Zinedine Zidane can now afford to rest his star players with the emergence of Asensio, but the youngster may look for more football at another club once the season concludes.

Although his minutes have gone down with Gareth Bale returning from his ankle injury, expect clubs to come knocking after the season. Real do have the option of sale-plus-buy-back, hence Alvaro Morata.
