One likely must go

Barcelona’s MSN front-line is considered one of the best in recent memory, capable of the spectacular in the final third. But with several changes on the cards for the Blaugrana in the coming months, a potential transfer for Neymar may simply be part of a business decision for the Catalan giants.

Manager Luis Enrique will be stepping aside as manager, and Lionel Messi has also been the subject of transfer rumours in recent reports.

Both Neymar and Messi would command astronomical transfer fees, somewhere around £200 million at the very least. Two of the sport’s true stars would be a significant loss for Barcelona, but those types of financial numbers could be difficult to turn down.

There is a sense that one of the two forwards may move on, and if Messi is to sign a new contract to stay at the Camp Nou, the sale of Neymar to Manchester United may be a necessary element to facilitate the deal.

With Neymar expressing a desire to play in England and the club wanting to keep Lionel Messi within the squad, a summer move to Manchester United for the Brazilian makes a certain amount of business sense.
