Leicester City 2016-2017

Leicester City’s Cinderella story was one that should give encouragement to any team.

In its second season back in the Premier League after a ten-year absence, most predicted that the Foxes would be relegated. Instead the team stunned the football world by being crowned champions. In doing so Leicester City left the traditional top teams fighting for second place.

It appears that Leicester will not retain its title. The club is sitting in 15th place and surviving relegation has become its number one goal.

What has been amazing is Leicester’s success in this season’s Champions League competition. While Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City have all been eliminated, it is Leicester that is still alive as the tournament heads to the quarterfinals.

The East Midlands outfit is not on the Forbes list. That however, has not stopped the Foxes from achieving more than clubs with larger revenue streams.
