I am a huge Chelsea FC fan. I am also a huge fan of “top greatest X slideshows” so I decided to do a best XI from 00’s Chelsea era.

So here is the best XI from the Roman Abramovich era as I was very young and didn’t watch much football during the early 90’s and earlier.

Remember back in the days when dvr and the internet wasn’t a thing? I would have to get up in the middle of the night (from the other side of the world in New Zealand) to watch a live game. My weary eyes and mind was obviously too frail to recall which players I liked best.

So I thought I’d base my decisions on  my actual knowledge from watching my favourite Chelsea players play throughout the Roman Abramovich era. I.e the  Ranieri, Mourinho, Ancelotti, Conte era.

Note, these decisions are based on my personal preference of favourite players, so they may not be necessarily be the best.

I’ll include statistics though to back up my claims of”greatest player” for each position.
