Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea bought Romelu Lukaku for £18million when he was still a teenager. He was barely given a chance at Stamford Bridge and went out on loan for two straight seasons. Mourinho eventually sold the player to Everton for £28m three years ago.

Mourinho offloaded Lukaku as he felt the player lacked motivation.

Since leaving Chelsea Lukaku has become a star. In 133 appearances for the Toffee’s the Belgian striker has scored an astonishing 64 goals while assisting on 23 others.

More from Manchester United

Chelsea is now considering a deal to bring the player back to London. The price tag for Lukaku is now expected to exceed £70m.

Ironically there have been reports that Manchester United and Mourinho have expressed interest in signing Lukaku.

It seems that the saying, what goes around comes around, is coming back to haunt Mourinho. If Lukaku does leave Everton this summer, it won’t be for a reunion with his former manager.
