If reports in France are to be believed then Real Madrid is set to try to steal two of Antonio Conte’s key men according to the latest Chelsea transfer news.
Real Madrid want Chelsea star N’Golo Kante along with Eden Hazard according to Le10 Sport which is an interesting development in the ongoing Chelsea transfer news regarding Real Madrid.
The French news outlet says that Real Madrid are plotting a £51m move for the former Leicester midfielder.
While manager Zinedine Zidane still wants Eden Hazard for around £100m.
I’m sure you can work it out but that’s £151m for two Chelsea players which is a large fee, but it’s not enough to prise away arguably Chelsea’s two best players. Although the Chelsea transfer news linking Kante to Madrid is certainly a bit of a surprise.
Chelsea FC look set to win the Premier League this year while they also have high hopes for the Champions League next season. Conte will not allow Chelsea’s two best players to leave at any price.
While some could argue that Hazard may go if he does indeed want to move, I’m sure Conte will not allow two players two leave. The only way I could see this happening is if Real Madrid offer their key midfielder Casemiro in return for Kante while also offering a huge transfer fee along with Isco or James Rodriguez in return. Now, we all know that the transfer windows are often perhaps disappointingly not like Fifa. So a swap deal involving two players is highly unlikely.
Real Madrid obviously view Kante as an upgrade on Casemiro while their star player Ronaldo is ageing. They are thinking about the future and Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of Hazard in particular,
In any case, there is no way Conte will allow N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard to leave. Even if they both wanted to. Last season Diego Costa told Antonio Conte that he wanted to leave for Atletico Madrid and what happened? Nothing. He didn’t go, much to Costa’s disappointment at the time.

But now Costa is happy playing for Chelsea and while he’s said recently that he doesn’t like living in London, it’s testament to Conte’s man management skills that he persuaded the Spanish striker to stay.
Now Conte has an even bigger test on his hands in getting Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante to stay. Everybody knows that Real Madrid and Barcelona are the pinnacles in the world of football and there’s not many players that have turned them down. But I believe Conte will be able to get them to stay,
While Chelsea’s Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois recently commented on the Chelsea transfer news saying that he and Hazard are not affected by the Real Madrid rumours and are focused on winning the title. Courtois, who is also a Real Madrid target, said that he’s not going anywhere and has pledged his loyalty to Chelsea.
"“Eden is not affected by it.”“They are just rumours. He [Eden] is just calm. He knows that he is important to Chelsea, like I do. We are both very happy to be here. This [Manchester City] was my 100th game for Chelsea and I hope for many more.”"
Along with Eden Hazard, N’Golo Kante is imperative to Chelsea’s system and I really can’t see any other player doing his job as effectively as Kante has done this season for the Blues.
But one has to admire the trajectory of Kante’s success if he did indeed go to Real Madrid. Starting out in Ligue Two, Kante moved to Leicester for relatively nothing. He then joined Chelsea for £32m and is now being linked to Real Madrid for £51m. It’s a classic tale much like something you’d see in the movies such as in ‘goal’ and perhaps Fifa’s ‘The Journey’.

But Chelsea fans, stay calm and carry on as these rumours are exactly that… rumours. They are likely not going to happen. But hey it gives me something to write about and something football fans can read about.
