2. Gylfi Sigurdsson

His club might be in the relegation zone, but there’s no denying Gylfi Sigurdsson’s quality and ability. The 27-year old Swansea star has been the standout player for the club once again this season. A formidable free-kick taker and long-range shooter, Sigurdsson has scored some very important goals this season.

The Iceland international has scored 8 very important league goals this season and has set up a further 11 for his team-mates. And there is no doubt that Sigurdsson’s future lies at the highest level, even if Swansea go down this season.

His manager believes that Sigurdsson is good enough to play for big clubs like Bayern Munich and Chelsea. He also compared him to Frank Lampard, saying, “He’s a very good player. I see someone who is fully committed to this club and team and himself, working everyday to be the best he can be. He is a player, not dissimilar to Frank Lampard.”

He has continued to perform even when his team mates have struggled this season. Sigurdsson is arguably Swansea’s best ever signing and deserves far more recognition for his performances, especially given the circumstances at his club.
