Left winger: Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool

Philippe Coutinho, when fit and in form, is one of the best attackers in the Premier League. He may not display his magic consistently for Liverpool but on his day he’s simply magnificent. His dribbling and passing on the left hand side of Liverpool’s fearsome front three were often the catalyst for Liverpool’s attacks. His link-up play with Firmino and Mane was the reason Liverpool stormed the Premier League this season with so many goals.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, he was injured for a long period and struggled to get his form back upon returning. Although he is starting to now.

Magical, genius and inconsistent seem to be the main adjectives used for describing Coutinho this season. The Brazilian magician has scored 9 goals and made 6 assists in his limited season of 23 starts.

However even though he’s inconsistent he still deserves to be in my team of the year.

He’s made 2.2 key passes per game, 2 successful dribbles per game and he’s made 2.1 long balls per game.
