A new Galactico

Real Madrid are truly defined by two key elements that have almost always been a part of their history, especially in recent times. Those two elements are the UEFA Champions League and having the most star-studded roster possible.

The European Cup glory days of Alfredo Di Stefano have evolved into their recent Champions League triumphs, while the Galacticos experiment progressed into several summers of big spending on the best available talent. Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have carried on the legacy of Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and David Beckham.

It is a part of who Real Madrid are. And as one of their more recent stars could be on the way out, another could be primed for an arrival.

Rumours have been heavy as of late that Real Madrid and Florentino Perez will be focused on signing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, with money being no object in the bidding process. The summer of 2014 brought the exciting addition of Colombian international James Rodriguez, but the midfielder has struggled to find playing time under manager Zinedine Zidane.

While one Galactico has not quite worked out, Real Madrid could see an even more successful future for themselves with the signing of Eden Hazard.
