Striker
Real Madrid boast one of world’s greatest attacking front-lines, able to destroy and conquer even the best of defences. Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo form the “BBC”, and can truly be a nightmare for the opposition. But with possible changes coming in the attack, the striker position may need attention at the Bernabeu this summer.
With Benzema’s contract status still pending and recent reports that suggest Alvaro Morata could be on the way out as well, it is important for Madrid to be prepared for any possible scenario.
Zidane has stuck by the Frenchman, despite goal-scoring numbers being down from Benzema’s usual outputs this season. Along with less overall production, less playing time for Morata has had a negative impact as well.
Finding the type of striker that can succeed within the team is no easy task, with an emphasis on clinical finishing a major part of the equation. With Ronaldo and Bale on each side of the centre-forward, any new addition will need to be at their best in the final third.
With two talented strikers possibly continuing their careers elsewhere, Real Madrid will need to have a plan for adding firepower to their attack in the coming months.
