5. Wembley matters

Let’s be honest here. Tottenham’s Champions League experience in Wembley Stadium didn’t go according to plan. Spurs struggled to cope with the new pitch and flamed out in pretty ugly fashion. Some might think that’s a reason not to back Spurs in this match.

In actuality, the early season failure at Wembley will work to Tottenham’s advantage. No one on the squad wants to head into the summer answering questions about how they’ll cope with playing in Wembley next season. Hammering Chelsea at the big ground would go a long way towards silencing those questions.

Don’t forget, it isn’t as if Chelsea have played a ton of matches at Wembley lately. Their squad will have to cope with the new environment too. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them a little off their game early in the match as they adjust.

Ultimately, Spurs will enter this match desperate to silence any questions about their Wembley form. A win against Antonio Conte’s side is the perfect cure for that ill.
