Tottenham will only sell in order to fund purchases this summer

In the midst of a multitude of reports linking all of Tottenham’s best players with big money moves away from Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino has strode in and set the record straight. His revelation that the club will only sell players in order to fund summer purchases should be a big relief to Tottenham fans across the globe. It does beg one question though. What players could be sold to raise funds for Pochettino’s summer transfer budget?

Pochettino’s remarks make it very unlikely that luminaries like Harry Kane or Dele Alli will be sold this summer. Each will continue to be the subject of transfer rumours, but Pochettino’s words should inspire confidence throughout the Spurs fan base.

Even so, Tottenham officials know they must be proactive this summer to strengthen the squad. The squad is lacking at least one wide attacker with pace and could certainly use another central defender. Those aren’t going to be free transfers.

As such, it’s time to look up and down the Spurs squad to see what players could actually be sold this summer. This isn’t just a list of bench warmers, it includes a regular Tottenham starter as well. Read on to discover five Spurs stars who could be sold this summer to fund purchases more to Pochettino’s liking.
