5. Moussa Sissoko

You’ll have to forgive me if I start this list with the most obvious choice. Things just haven’t worked out for Moussa Sissoko at Tottenham. It’s hard to see Pochettino persisting with him for another season.

Fortunately (and rather inexplicably), there seem to be a number of other clubs interested in the Frenchman’s services. Getting rid of his dead weight shouldn’t be a huge challenge for Daniel Levy. Spurs might not break even on the transaction, but then again, if rumours of his payment schedule are correct it’s possible Tottenham might turn a profit.

No matter what the initial investment was, he clearly hasn’t been worth it. He’s provided Pochettino almost nothing off the substitute’s bench. When he’s on the pitch, he alternates between looking lost and disinterested. He’s almost the antithesis of what Pochettino wants in a midfielder.

You can expect Sissoko to be one of the first players sold by Tottenham this summer. It will serve as a sobering reminder to everyone on the squad that a large transfer fee doesn’t mean anything to Pochettino.
