3. Kevin Wimmer

Every year, at least one Tottenham player seems to surprisingly find his way into Pochettino’s dog house. Kevin Wimmer is the player who managed to fall entirely out of his manager’s favour this season.

I must confess that I was optimistic Wimmer would continue his career progression coming into this season. After all, he’d done a solid job of filling in for Jan Vertonghen during the Belgian’s injury absence last year.

Unfortunately, it was clear early on that Wimmer’s status was in jeopardy. Pochettino promoted Cameron Carter-Vickers ahead of him during preseason. The Austrian eventually overtook the young American, but he never seemed comfortable on the pitch.

Look for him to secure a move back to Germany, or even to a smaller Premier League club this summer. I won’t be happy to see him move on, but in Pochettino I trust.
