Thierry Henry’s legendary goal celebration

This one is remembered most for one particular moment rather than the final score.

Arsenal easily won the match at Highbury 3-0.

Thierry Henry got things started in the 13th minute. The striker got on the end of a loose ball in his own half and 11 seconds later he gave Arsenal a 1-0 lead. Henry’s run saw him evade three Tottenham defender’s ‘s before slotting the ball past Spurs’ keeper Kasey Keller.

Henry celebrated his goal by running towards the Tottenham fans and sliding on his knees in a victorious pose.

This goal celebration is one that will be remembered forever. In December of 2009 Henry was honored by Arsenal with the unveiling of a bronze statue outside Emirates Stadium. The larger than life effigy depicts the player’s knee slide celebration.
