Expect Tottenham to dominate West Ham

Tottenham have a very unique opportunity ahead of them against West Ham on Friday. If Spurs win, they can cut Chelsea’s Premier League lead to a single point. That’s simply one of the reasons I’m expecting a dominant effort from Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

It’s very possible that Friday evening will be as close as Tottenham get to Chelsea for the remainder of the season. Frankly, their only chance to catch the Blues is to put Antonio Conte’s squad under real pressure. Slicing their lead in the table to just one point would certainly qualify.

Of course, West Ham enter the match with issues of their own. Slaven Bilic’s club would leave to use the match to jump over the mythical 40 point mark in the table. Such a point total would almost certainly keep them in England’s top flight for another season. They certainly aren’t likely to be relegated, but the Hammers would love to eliminate all doubt on Friday.
