A look ahead at Barcelona’s summer targets.

The summer transfer window is a key time for any European club, with an aim to make the coming season even better than the previous edition. For Barcelona, the approaching months could bring about a multitude of changes in various areas.

Locked in a close league title race with their rivals Real Madrid and set for the Copa del Rey final at the end of May, Barcelona are in a unique position heading into the off-season.

Manager Luis Enrique has announced that he will be leaving the club upon the conclusion of the current campaign.

Boasting some of the game’s most talented players within their squad, the task of improving a European powerhouse is never easy. The wheels of motion are constant in the transfer market, and the resources of some of wealthiest in the sport can make even the impossible seem plausible.

Age can be a concern, as can a player’s role within the team. With a new manager taking over for the 2017-18 season, how the new boss will want to utilise the Blaugrana’s talents is anyone’s guess at this point in time.

We highlight and review five key areas that Barcelona will want to focus on during the summer transfer period.
