Top five transfer needs for Barcelona

The Barcelona front-line is a true force in European football, and is arguably one of the best put together in any era. The “MSN” trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar can completely dominate a defence and impose their will in the final third. However, time is changing the look of the Barca midfield.
Xavi Hernandez has moved on, with Andres Iniesta beginning to slow down a bit as well. While the quality is certainly still present, the 32-year-old is not in the line-up as often as he has been in the past. The answer may be found in Ligue 1 in a player that has caught the eye of Barcelona before.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti will be looked at this summer, and could bring many positives to the Blaugrana midfield. The Italian international is one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe, and his passing ability becomes a dangerous weapon in the attack as well.

Ultimately, the club wants to see more in the middle of the pitch. Ivan Rakitic’s talent has been impressive but needs to be felt on a more consistent basis. Arda Turan, Denis Suarez and Sergio Busquets have suffered from similar issues during the current term also.
With the club’s hierarchy ready to reinforce the midfield, expect to see Marco Verratti and a variety of other options explored by Barcelona during the summer transfer period.
