Ross Barkley would be a great signing for Tottenham

Tottenham fans are quite divided over the possibility of signing Ross Barkley this summer. For the life of me, I simply can’t understand all the negativity surrounding the English midfielder.

In case you missed it, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that Barkley only has seven more days to sign a new contract with the Toffees. His point of view is that his attacker has had more than enough time to agree to new terms with the club. If he isn’t going to re-sign, Everton need a lot of time to make plans to replace him this summer.

Spurs are widely believed to be the most interested club in taking him off of Everton’s hands. That news set off a firestorm on Tottenham’s social media yesterday. Shockingly, a vocal portion of the club’s passionate fan base are firmly opposed to signing Barkley.

The purpose of this piece is to explain to Tottenham fans why that opinion is misguided. Spurs fans should be very excited about adding the 23-year-old to their squad. Read on to discover the top five reasons why fans of Mauricio Pochettino’s club should be enthused about the possibility of bringing Ross Barkley to North London.
