2. Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Loftus-Cheek has been touted as the next break-out star for Chelsea. The Blues haven’t had a youth product break into the first team since John Terry established himself as one of the best center-backs in the world.

Loftus Cheek has become more in favor recently after appearing in the FA Cup and also the Premier League coming off the bench.

He’s tall, (around 6 ft 3) and strong. He can hold the ball up well and he can also make long driving runs with the ball through the midfield and into attack. If he develops his shooting, his tackling and passing ability then he could become the next Frank Lampard for the Blues.

The problem is however, that nobody seems to know his best position. Previously under Jose Mourinho he played as a central midfielder but when Conte came, he realized immediately that Loftus-Cheek wasn’t a midfielder but would make a great attacking midfielder/ forward.

The English under-21 international made 11 appearances in total this season.

However, reports have surfaced recently that Loftus-Cheek wants a loan move in order to gain first team football. This is understandable and I think it’s crucial for his development that he goes.

Another lower level Premier League club would be perfect such as Swansea, West Brom, Watford etc.

He needs to find out what position he’s best at. If he wants to be a midfielder then he will need to do a lot more running off the ball to suit Conte’s style.
