Chelsea FC: 5 players that need a loan spell away this summer
1. Michy Batshuayi
Nobody would have predicted that Michy of all players would score the winning goal for Chelsea that would earn them the Premier League title. After a frustrating first campaign for Chelsea, Michy has written himself into Chelsea FC folklore after his goal that sent the players, fans and Antonio Conte into a frenzy.
Batshuayi barely played this season aside from the odd FA Cup appearance and a few appearances off the bench in the Premier League.
Nobody could understand why he failed to get any playing time, and it just seemed an insult to injury when Conte elected to play Hazard as a false nine for Chelsea when Costa was injured.
However, he still needs a loan spell away from the club to develop into the player Chelsea hope he’d be when they bought him.
When he has played, it was obvious why Conte didn’t trust him as an understudy to Costa. His hold-up play was messy and his first touch unpredictable. His running off the ball was good but he didn’t get into scoring positions enough. His awareness of other players around him was also non-existent.
Michy, at this stage seems like a dud buy. I’m probably being a bit harsh here considering he scored the title-winning goal but it was one of those goals almost any half-decent striker should score anyways.

A loan spell at West Ham or Everton would be perfect, or even at West Brom. If he gets consistent starts and adjusts to the pace of the Premier League then he could come back to Chelsea as a decent striker.
