Harry Kane-10
Some might try to downgrade Kane’s performance because of the opponent, but he isn’t in charge of the opposition. All the talented forward can do is light up the opponents that appear before him. He certainly did that against Hull.
In fairness, it was obvious from the outset that his teammates were determined to make sure he secured the Golden Boot. Son Heung-Min was even guilty of passing on a one v one to give Kane a pass early in the match. When Son doesn’t shoot, you know something’s going on.
In the end, Kane scored a pretty easy hat trick in just under 80 minutes of action. Most impressively, he scored all three times with his left foot. It’s almost as if he was bored of scoring goals in more conventional fashion. It’s hard to imagine a striker playing a better match, that’s why Kane gets the perfect 10 for this one.
Hugo Lloris-7
The only real drama of the second half was whether or not Lloris could keep a clean sheet. Unfortunately, he was robbed of his chance to share the Golden Glove. In fairness to the French captain, there wasn’t much he could do to keep Clucas’ blast out of the back of the net.
Otherwise, Lloris had a pretty boring afternoon. He wasn’t forced to make any spectacular saves, but he kept the take shots he faced out of the back of the net. It was a comfortable, yet disappointing afternoon for the talented keeper.
