Defense

Let’s be honest, if there was a big lack this year it was on defense. The Reds conceded 42 goals and struggled to find consistency all season.

Nathaniel Clyne and Joel Matip had good spells, but like the midfield, there was a lack of consistency.

Here is where Klopp can make a big impact.

Liverpool has been linked strongly with Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, but that price tag is looking more and more like £50 million every day. Now, remember what I said about Sakho? A swap and some additional cash could see van Dijk to Anfield.

That could be one of the strongest moves Klopp and Fenway Sports Group could make this summer.
