Leading up to the start of the 2016-17 season, Cristiano Ronaldo was on top of Europe for both club and country. With Real Madrid lifting the Champions League trophy and Portugal’s astounding Euro 2016 triumph, following up these successes would be difficult. But Ronaldo has not only managed to do so, but was even able to surprise fans along the way.

Despite missing several matches due to injury early in the campaign, CR7 scored 25 goals and recorded six assists en route to La Liga’s title. Eight more goals were added in the UEFA Champions League as well.

The Portuguese superstar’s world-class skills have not diminished in any form, continuing to state his case as one of the greatest footballers of all-time. Pace, vision and quality on the ball that can break down any defence made Ronaldo a major issue for every La Liga club this past season.

Records seemingly fell every time he took the pitch, but there is still more that Ronaldo and Real Madrid can accomplish together.

Even with other Galacticos around him in the line-up, CR7’s performances ultimately dictate the success of Los Blancos.
