Manchester City target multiple Monaco players

After losing a multitude of players in the last 72 hours, Manchester City start their summer rebuild by raiding French champions Monaco
It has been an interesting start to the summer transfer window for Manchester City. The club has already lost five players, with three of them being fullbacks. Though all these players were over the age of 30, the experience they carried was valuable to the team. Replacing them will not be an easy task.
Guardiola has wasted no time, however, picking up new players to fit his system. Both Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy are on City’s radar. The two have had great seasons for the Ligue 1 champions and should fit the way Pep plays very well.
Silva, a well-known Portuguese youngster, will slot perfectly into the midfield. He often plays on the right side and is a very dangerous player with the ball. The quick ball movement and skill he possesses makes him a dangerous attacker for any opposing fullback. Silva is just the player to bring in since the club just lost Jesus Navas. The two play the same position, with Silva being the younger and more technically gifted player.
The other player Guardiola is hoping to add to his squad is fullback Benjamin Mendy. The young Frenchman seems to be just the player Guardiola hopes for in an outside defender. A quick and strong defender who is comfortable with the ball at his feet. Mendy’s ability to pick a pass and find players in open space makes him a vital asset going forward. He will be a perfect replacement for Clichy, who also loved to get forward and put crosses into the box.
Next: La Liga team of the season
These two players would be a great place to start for Guardiola and Manchester City this summer. They fit the system well and are growing talents that need to be given game time. With Champions League and the Premier League to fight for next season, City will need all the help they can get in terms of squad depth. Adding these two players should be just the start to the transfer window that City fans were hoping for.
