The 2016/17 Premier League season is in the books and Liverpool had some incredible goals to remember. We have collected them together in a Top 10 rundown of the Red’s best strikes complete with video for you to enjoy!
At times this season Liverpool were an irresistible attacking force. Until the turn of the year the Red’s were the league’s top scoring team and blew away many of their opponents in exciting fashion. The season started with a four goal demolition of Arsenal and continued in that vein. Things slowed down a little in the second half of the season but the successful run-in to secure a Champions League spot saw some of the season’s best goals.
The previous year Liverpool had struggled at both ends of the pitch and only scored 63 goals as Liverpool changed managers from Brendan Rodgers to Jurgen Klopp. Last summer saw two attacking additions in Southampton’s Sadio Mane and Newcastle’s Gini Wijnaldum who scored 13 and 6 goals respectively to boost the Red’s season total to 78 this term.
The quality of goals also improved with Liverpool having two of the eight candidates for ‘Goals of the Season’ run by the BBC. Many of the goals we had to leave out would have made any other team’s end of season lists. There is a fantastic array to choose from and many memorable moments to mark Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge.
