The 10 best Liverpool goals of the 2016/2017 season: VIDEO

Number 5: Philippe Coutinho v Everton
Remember the goal earlier in this article when Mane danced around panicking Everton defenders before placing to the left hand side of a static Joel Robles? Well here is another one. Everton has equalized out of nowhere after Mane’s opening strike and Liverpool were looking for a reward for their first half dominance. Leave it to their best player to deliver:
Philippe Coutinho picks up the ball on the center circle before driving forward for 30 yards. He sells Idrissa Gueye a dummy that suckers the Everton midfielder to making a tackle on a patch of grass where nobody is standing. After embarrassing the Toffee’s best midfielder he proceeds to humiliate their defense in similar fashion.

Everton captain Phil Jagielka starts shuffling and backtracking without a clue to what he is doing or what Coutinho is going to next. The Brazilian makes the most of the indecision and drives into the middle of the box before turning on to his deadly right foot.
From that point there is only one outcome. Coutinho has a clear shot on the right hand side of the goal but has plenty to do. He uses his low center of gravity to switch quickly and bends a glorious shot into the top corner.
Once again Joel Robles is standing helpless to the pace and skill of the Liverpool forward. Another incredible strike is added to Philippe Coutinho’s ever-growing highlight reel. Liverpool will be hoping that Barcelona don’t make him their top target and snatch the mercurial midfielder this summer.
