Premier League fixtures released for 2017-2018 campaign
By Jocelyn Taub
The new season doesn’t begin for another two months but the schedule for 2017-2018 is out now.
It’s been just one month since Chelsea were crowned Premier League Champions. The new season doesn’t kick off until mid-August. That doesn’t mean, however, that football fans can’t start planning for the upcoming campaign.
Fixtures are now available for each of the 20 Premier League clubs.
Week one gives home field advantage to the defending champions as Burnley visit Stamford Bridge. Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United will also host opening week fixtures.
Liverpool and Manchester City will travel to Watford and Brighton, respectively.
Perhaps the most interesting fixture to start the season will be runners-up Tottenham at Newcastle United. Rafa Benitez will be savoring the opportunity to be back in the Premier League and St. James Park will be rocking.
Week One
- Arsenal v Leicester City
- Brighton v Manchester City
- Chelsea v Burnley
- Crystal Palace v Huddersfield Town
- Everton v Stoke City
- Manchester United v West Ham United
- Newcastle United v Tottenham
- Southampton v Swansea City
- Watford v Liverpool
- West Bromwich Albion v Bournemouth
A look at some of the early season must see matches
There are some interesting early season matches.
Week two will feature Chelsea at Tottenham. Last season’s top two sides will face off at Wembley Stadium. Spurs will have to adapt to their new temporary home while the new White Hart Lane is being built. Having to take on the Blues to kick things off was probably not what Mauricio Pochettino’s side would have wanted.
