Liverpool FC will not give up, it seems, as they have reportedly submitted another club record bid for RB Leipzig star Naby Keita.

German newspaper Bild have reported that Liverpool FC has made a £75 million bid for the combative midfielder.

This news follows the recent controversy  around the midfielder after he made a rather nasty tackle on his fellow team-mate in training. The tackle caused Diego Demme some pain after Keita two-footed his team-mate. The video clearly shows the tackle was deliberate and an act of revenge after Demme fouled Keita earlier on in the training session. This seems a clear sign that Keita is trying to force a move to Liverpool FC.

It would be in RB Leipzig’s interest that they let the fiery 22-year-old midfielder go as he’s clearly causing some disharmony in the dressing room.

Liverpool have had two £57m and £66m bids rejected so far.

Coach Jurgen Klopp is obviously a big fan though as he’s made a much improved offer despite RB Leipzig owner Dietrich Mateschitz  stating last week that Keita was staying.

"“Lately we got a €75 million offer for Naby Keita. No way! He has a contract and he will accomplish it.“To sell him would not only be a proof of distrust to our fans but also the wrong sign for our players like Timo Werner, who is in demand too.”"

Keita scored eight goals and made seven assists in 32 appearances for the club last season reflecting how good of a central midfielder he is.

The midfielder joined Leipzig from sister-club RB Salzburg in June 2016 after a promising debut season. He had joined Salzburg after a successful season playing for FC Istres in Ligue 2. He has been compared to N’Golo Kante who also started his career in the French ligue 2.

Liverpool could certainly use his combative tackling, goal scoring and assist making in the Premier League.

The Guinean international would partner Jordan Henderson or Adam Lallana in the midfield which raises questions as to where Coutinho, new signing Mohammed Salah, Sadio Mane and Firminio would all fit in.

RB Leipzig had a decent season after qualifying for the Champions League and competing with Bayern Munich for the title.

This explains why they are so reluctant to sell the midfielder even though he has a £48 million release clause that will be activated next summer.  It seems as though the club will take the cut in price for him though just to have Keita for one more season.

Nevertheless, it seems that Liverpool have not given up yet and it’s still possible that they get their man by the end of the window,
