5. Tashan Oakley-Boothe

Of all the Tottenham player who appeared against PSG, it’s Tashan Oakley-Boothe that has the most variance. If he plays great this preseason, he could earn a meaningful role in Pochettino’s senior squad.

The more likely route, is that Oakley-Boothe remains with the U23 setup for at least another season. He wasn’t able to make a real impact in Tottenham’s first friendly. Oakley-Boothe admitted being nervous about making his debut with the senior squad, and it showed.

It’s important to note that he was the youngest player on the pitch against PSG. In fact, he happens to be the only player to make a senior appearance for Spurs that was born in the year 2000.  There’s plenty of time for him to fulfill his potential.

In the short-term, his clearest path towards meaningful playing time with the senior squad would be to show that he’s capable of giving his club a spark off the substitute’s bench. Ideally, that would entail showing Pochettino he’s capable of driving the attack forward from the midfield. Look for Oakley-Boothe to do everything he can to put himself in dangerous positions against Roma to impress his gaffer.
