Cristiano Ronaldo has concerns over Kylian Mbappe rumours transfer move.

It’s never easy letting go of a title you’ve gripped for almost a decade. In Cristiano Ronaldo’s case, he sees AS Monaco young phenom, Kylian Mbappe as his successor and he’s concerned. Club president Florentino Perez has been courting the Frenchman for a while, and he’s hoping Mbappe joins Real Madrid for a reported £161 million move.

According to Spanish outlet Dario Gol, Ronaldo feels threatened Mbappe’s appearance would debilitate his chances of winning more individual titles.

The prolific striker has hoisted just about every major title at the club level, and is the recipient of four Ballon d’Ors. Ronaldo fears at the age of 32, his chances of being on par with rival, Lionel Messi could possibly come to a halt if Mbappe joins Los Blancos.

This is what puts Ronaldo in the GOAT status. His steady persistence and hunger for more individual glory. Of course there will be some that disagrees and say he should be more focused on team honors. But here is the thing, Ronaldo has won just about everything at club and international stage.

As for what’s best for the club, Real needs to ink Mbappe as Ronaldo successor since it appears Gareth Bale can no longer fit that bill with his ongoing injury issues.

More from Real Madrid

At some point, Madrid will need a new poster boy as Ronaldo is beginning to age. Yes, the Portuguese will still be relevant because of his uncanny ability to score goals.

Could the 18-year-old usurp Ronaldo right away? Probably not. But with more game time, he can possibly headline the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe netted six goals in the Champions League knockout stages. Only Ronaldo scored more with ten. The future is certainly bright for the wonderkid and Real captain Sergio Ramos is doing his best to persuade Mbappe.

"“It’s not a decision for me but Mbappe is a great prospect, there are not young players around like him. We have an important year ahead of us and already have excellent players.“But it’s money which moves football and people can pay what they want.“If he wants to come to Real Madrid the doors will be open.”"

One can indisputably understand Ronaldo’s concern over a player who could eventually eclipse him, but Perez and the hierarchy must do their job and secure top talents, if that means sealing Mbappe’s deal then Ronaldo is going to have to deal with that.
