3. Tottenham /// 2016/17 goals for: 86 /// 2016/17 top scorer: Harry Kane (29)

2017/18 likely top scorer: Harry Kane /// 2017/18 Key player: Harry Kane

Tottenham have yet to make a signing this summer as they ostensibly feel confident with the squad they have from last season.

And why wouldn’t they? Their attacking quartet of Kane, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son were irresistible and are now each a year older. None of the four are above 25 years of age and Alli is just 21. Kane, Eriksen and Son are hitting their prime right now and Alli is well ahead of schedule.

Last season they signed a striker. Victor Janssen arrived highly regarded from the Eredivisie but hardly could get a game. With him still on board, they have injury insurance for Kane and already have a few wingers on the bench should any of the others catch a long-term injury.

Spurs scored the most goals last season, but were infamously poor when playing at Wembley, where they’ll have their home games this season. Was their subpar form at Wembley a fluke, or a trend?

Mauricio Pochettino has them playing on the front foot, pressing whenever possible. The goals won’t dry up, but they may not be as prolific as last year, enough to put them at third before the season starts.
